These creatures were genetically spliced and bred by farmers down south specifically for human consumption. initially intended for the farmers families during drought seasons but they later realized the income potential if they sold and exported the meat.
A mixture between a dewdong/manatee and your average domesticated pot bellied pig, the Dewdoink is a massive tank of an animal; capable of providing a normal American family with enough bacon & sausage for two & a half months on a daily basis.
They live in expansive habitats on the nearby bayous and marshes of farms off the Gulf of Mexico. they spend most of their time sleeping, lumbering around, and grazing on the sea grass that grows out of the sand beds.
Here, we are viewing a rather portly stud around 10 years of age. Males usually grow to be about 20 feet long while the females tend to average about 10. The largest one ever recorded was a male at 25.7 feet and tipped the scales at a whopping 1,879.2 lbs.

Here's my entry for dA's Splice contest. i decided to enter last night but didn't know where to start. then a little voice in my head shouted "Bacon fish!"...and thus the Dewdoink was born.
I tried experimenting with other styles here. scale, atmosphere, tone, blur, & perspective. it was a LOT of fun to do.
Thank you for the compliment, it means a lot coming from you! i'm glad you like it.
